Loving The Lakes

Wow. I had never truly visited the Lake district before ( bar a half-day field trip back in my hazy art school days ) I fell in love with it. I booked a cottage in Bowness-on-Windermere for me and the familia for two weeks, and spent most of the time with the brood on daytrips to the likes of Coniston, Ambleside, Ravenglass, Grasmere etc, and had a great day every day despite the constant presence of Mordor skies and oppressive rainfall. By the end of week one I developed a crick in my neck from swivelling my gaze left and right of me as I navigated the beautifully manicured landscape of lush green dales and high fells. My photographers brain was being constantly bombarded with countless compositions from every direction and I therefore resolved to set out mid-day on the beginning of second week when there was brief respite from the elements and make some images. The following gallery are a selection of images I managed to make and scrapes the surface of the possibilities ahead. I MUST return.
